It’s that time of year again. You’ve unpacked your flannels, found the cutest ankle boots to wear to every orchard in a 50 mile radius and you’ve richened your hair color with hints of copper. You are ready for Autumn.

So why is your hair not cooperating? Change in season can bring on changes in hair as fast as coffee houses introduce apple cider doughnuts and PSLs. Don’t be discouraged, though. We are here to put your fears at ease and offer pro tips for managing your fall-hair woes.

1) It’s Flannel season but it’s also shedding season

As we know, it is normal to shed roughly 50 to 100 hairs daily. If you’re starting to notice a significant increase in the abundance of hair caught in your shower drain right about now, do not panic! Our hair goes through stages regularly. During the summer months, telogen, or the “resting” stage for hair growth, is at its highest stage where roughly 10% of your hair is in the telogen stage and will fall out approximately 100 days later. Because we can’t stop this natural cycle of growth, all we can tell you is do not panic! While you are busy buying Drain-O, there are many other hairs
sprouting on your pretty little head. So what’s the best product to help with shedding? In this case, we recommend taking care of what you have instead of focusing on what you’ve lost. Aero Heat Shield is a wonderful product that can be used as an added layer
of protection to new hair growth to prevent them from drying out as you use hot blow dryers and styling tools to tame them.

2) It would’ve been a great picture if my hair wasn’t standing up…

As if shedding at a high rate weren’t stressful enough, the season is drying out and now you have to worry about flyaways. But not just any flyaways…these ones have superhuman strength. We will save you the science lesson here and sum it up to friction and lack of moisture. (You’re welcome) Flannel + Long hair = a photo shoppers dream. So what do you do? How do I fix my static hair? The answer is simple: moisturize. Your hair is on the dry side from the summer sun making it a playground for static electricity. Now, mositure-based products are not for everyone! Straight hair
has too much moisture so a daily regimen of moisture shampoos would only weigh it down. We don’t recommend changing your shampoo and condition but we do suggest a healthy dose of leave in conditioner for static hair. Leave In Reconstructor is wonderful because it is moisturizing enough for thicker, curly hair, but lightweight enough that it won’t weigh down your fine, straight hair.

3) I would’ve gone apple picking if I could get my hair to do something…

The only thing worse than frizzy, flyaway hair is hair that falls completely flat. If you are struggling to get any body to your lifeless hair or it just won’t hold a curl, you need protein in your life! The best product for hair volume is by far our Protein Bodifier.
Transform flat hair in minutes by spraying onto towel blotted hair and styling as usual. Want your curl to stay for those orchard pictures? Prep with Aero HeatShield when wet and a small amount of Aerogel when dry and allow the Aerogel to set before brushing
through and curling for that added hold. Change in season can cause changes in hair behavior but keeping your hair healthy
with TRI Professional products will be the best way to stay ahead of the changes.
